Have you ever been to Brugge? If not, please book your flight as soon as possible! You won’t regret it! If you’ve read my post about our trip to Brussels, you’ve seen that this trip wasn’t planned in the beginning, but I’m SO glad we’ve changed our plans!
Coming from Brussels, we took the train from Brussels Gare Centrale. Tip: If you travel with other people than your partner, check out the Rail Pass. We saved some euros by buying this pass and there’s only one ticket for maximum 10 people [we were 4 and it was great that our return was included in the price]. If everyone in your group is under 26 years old, there’s another pass for you, and it’s cheaper! It is called Go Pass. Also, there’s no need to buy tickets for public transport in Brugge. Just follow other tourists and you’ll find the city centre in no time. Brugge is amazing to visit by walking! So, take your time and enjoy the city!
Searching around the Internet, I saw that lots of people say that you need only one day to visit Brugge. I’d like to disagree! I would book a hotel room for a night at least, I mean it’s kind of hard to walk around all day long to visit the city. Also, you will absolutely love the place and you will wish to stay more! At least I did! So take into consideration that you might want to spend at least a night in Brugge. If the pictures convince you, let me tell you: in reality, it’s 10 times better!
If I haven’t convinced you yet, the chocolate here is heaven! There are so many local chocolate shops you will fall in love with! For example, there was this cute little shop called Jean de Bruges where Jean, the owner, was so kind to tell us a few things about Brugge, not to mention that he told us where to find all the romantic spots in the city! Of course, we couldn’t leave without some amazing Belgian chocolate!
Beside the beautiful buildings and atmosphere Brugge is offering, our short trip was much more special because our friends got engaged! And I was so glad that me and my husband could help planning the proposal! Monsieur Jean advised me to take the couple and visit a beautiful pond behind the Church of Our Lady, but it was pretty crowded, so we had to give up on that place. We found a pretty spot though: Sint-Janshuis Mill! So the happy event took place there!
My advice would be: visit Brugge, it’s a must! Next time we plan to visit Belgium, I think I’ll spend at least 2 days here! And I’m positive that Brugge in the summer is breathtaking!
