Valentine’s day celebration
Who doesn’t love Valentine’s Day? Even more when close friends come along to celebrate the week of love! Did I mention the fact that we were part of a proposal? I mean, it’s Valentine’s day, the perfect occasion to tie the knot!
So, if you visit my Instagram feed once in a while, you can see that I love to travel and this was the perfect occasion to do it!
We stayed for 4 days on Belgian ground, but in reality, we only had 2 days and a half to visit museums and other tourist attractions. Brussels is beautiful! Too bad we visited when half of the city was under renovation! We were tired after a morning flight, we were hungry, so obviously, we were curious about the Belgian cuisine! After we checked in to this cute hotel [I will mention it later in this blog post], we decided to go after a Belgian treat! So, the first day was all about Belgian chocolate, beer and waffles.
On our second day, we visited Brugge. It was a spontaneous decision and I regret nothing! I was in awe with the beauty of it! I mean, have you seen the architecture of every building? But our day in Brugge deserves it’s own story, so I’ll leave it to another time. [x]
On our third day, we explored a few museums in Brussels, starting with the Atomium. It was an amazing experience! The building is so damn huge and impressive! Also, we were excited to visit Mini Europe, but unfortunately it is closed in February! The Planetarium was nice, but we didn’t stay to enjoy movies about Space and The Solar System, as we didn’t have that much time left to explore Brussels.
Parlamentarium was great! The visit is free of charge and you get an audio guide throughout the visit. Trust me, it was really useful and educational! It’s a must to visit it, you won’t be disappointed!
In the evening, we went shopping for gifts to bring back home to our loved ones. Probably the security control agents realised how much we love chocolate! Or, perhaps, they are used to the fact that tourists take with them the mouth-watering chocolate back home!
Our hotel in Brussels
If you want to have a cozy stay in Brussels, I honestly recommend hotel ibis Brussels Ste Catherine, even more if you’re on a budget! The breakfast is great, you can make your own Belgian waffles and pancakes! The bed was great, after all the walking we did around the town, it was amazing to come back to your room and sleep in a cozy bed!
The day to go back home arrived and we were really sad to leave Brussels! Our flight was at 9 am, so we didn’t have enough time to walk around the Grote Markt again for the last time. We’ll sure be back again, hopefully in the summer to enjoy Belgium with some sunlight. I’m sure it’s beautiful!
